Computer Aided Design and Manufacture (CAD/CAM) in schools

Computer aided design and manufacture (CAD/CAM) is a rapidly developing area of the curriculum in Design and Technology in the United Kingdom. Many of the developments that have taken place in the United Kingdom are a result of the CAD/CAM in Schools and Digital Design & Technology initiatives.

One of the principal aims in both cases was to raise standards in the design and technology curriculum through the development of provision in emerging technologies such as computer aided design and computer aided manufacture

The Centre for Design and Technology Education at Sheffield Hallam University offers a range of training and curriculum support solutions in CADCAM for schools and colleges. This wiki has been designed as a resource to support our work in this area. It has been developed with the aim of enhancing teacher / trainee teacher expertise in CADCAM through the provision of high quality teaching and learning resources and associated professional development opportunities.
